August Parker

What began as an exciting audio experiment in 2018 by Paul Geluso and Ozark Henry at BSP in Kingston, NY, has since become an ongoing project, titled August Parker.

August Parker isn’t just another alter ego of multi-platinum Belgian artist Ozark Henry, but rather work that’s influenced by the aforementioned fully live immersive audio experiment. That experience was too exciting to go back to business as usual. Over the years Ozark Henry has produced music ranging from avant-garde electronica to pop to a symphonic album with the National Orchestra of Belgium.

Considered one of the most influential “voices” in immersive sound, Henry’s universe is defined by a blending of craft with experiment, audio with visual and heritage with technology. His ground-breaking work in 3D immersive sound has been featured in TEDx and Google NY talks. The first single released under the August Parker moniker is "Play It Loud.”

“I wrote "Play It Loud" while caring for my father at the time he was diagnosed with an incurable cancer. The urgency of life and togetherness made me disconnect completely from the world. As a family we made a bucket list and mainly communicated through music, as music was always our deepest connection. My dad did said “there’s no time for grief or sadness now, there’s only time for celebration." I use those words as the guidelines of how my family and I now live.
